Russian stocks can rise slightly on US futures, oil price growth
MOSCOW, May 24 (PRIME) -- The Russian stock market will likely increase a little at the start of the Monday session due to an increase of oil prices and U.S. stock market futures, analysts said.
"The Russian stock market finished last week without dramatic changes, staying within an upward corridor," Alor Broker analyst Alexei Antonov said. "Today, everything favors the continuation of this approach started on Friday," he said.
The U.S. stocks futures added about 0.25%, precious metals increased, oil rose by about 0.5%, which, according to Antonov, will most likely result in a "sluggish growth" of the Russian market.
Vitaly Manzhos, senior risk manager at investment company Algo Capital, expects the MOEX Russia index to rise around 0.1–0.4% at the opening.
According to Antonov, gold producers' shares are an interesting asset after sales because gold has formed an upward trend.
